Marysville 50 - Hiawatha 48

Afer a hot Hiawatha start, Marysville came back take their first lead of the game 28-26 just before halftime. After building the advantage to 12 early in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs missed six straight free throws in the final two minutes and gave Hiawatha a chance. The Redhawks inbounded the ball twice in the final five seconds but couldn‘t hit a shot. Marysville was led by Garrison Wright with 17 points as the Bulldogs improved to 4-7. Drake Woehlecke was the player to bank of bringing Hiawatha back and scoring 8 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter. Denzel Chilcoat also had 14 for the Hawks who fell to 2-9 and failed to reach the Raider Classic Championshp for the third straight year.

Nemaha Valley 67 - St. Mary‘s 25

NV scored 19 straight points in the first quarter then opening the second stanza with a 15-0 run to coast to a 10-1 record. Four Raiders scored in double digits led by Creighton Brinker with 17 points all in the first half. Trent Olbering and Drew Steinloge added 11 but David Olberding had his best game of the season with 13 points and was the player to bank on helping NV dominate inside on both ends of the court. Nemaha Valley looks for the 14th Championship at the Raider Classic and tries to repeat against Marsysville at 7:00 PM on Saturday in Seneca with live coverage on 103.9 FM and www.knzafm.com.
