HOLTON AND ACCHS START WRESTLING SEASON WITH BIG WINS JF 12-5-11
The Holton and ACCHS wrestling teams were impressive in winning weekend tournaments to begin their season. Holton won the Spring Hill Duals by defeating Shawnee Mission South, Blue Valley West, KC Sumner, Santa Fe Trail and Spring Hill all by a double-digit margin. ACCHS won their home Larry Tilton/Worley Tournament with 10 teams at Effingham on Saturday. The Tigers defeated Royal Valley 42-25 in the championship while Pleasant Ridge placed third as a team and Atchison defeated Hiawatha to place fifth.
Meanwhile Doniphan West competed in the Mission Valley Tournament and was led by Gabby Speer with a second place individual medal.
