READY - SET - FREECYCLE

Brown County

READY, SET, FREECYCLE!
Horton, Kansas: Brown County now has an online resource for gifting items that an individual no longer needs or wants but still has usable life. Dubbed Freecycle, the motto of the international organization is "changing the world one gift at a time." Beginning in 2003 in Tuscon, Arizona, the group now has more than 4 million members around the world.
So, what is Freecycle all about? Freecycle is a grassroots movement to recycle much more than aluminum, paper, and plastic. It is about preventing useful items from going to the landfill. It is also about helping someone else who may not have money to purchase an item you no longer need or want. For those wanting to clean out closets, garages, and other cluttered areas, it is about having an almost instant place for your unwanted items to go. Individuals and non-profit organizations are eligible to participate.
Getting involved with Freecycle is easy. Visit the website online at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/browncountyksfreecycle/ There is no charge to join the group. Once you are there, browse the posted ads for items that are Offered or Wanted. It‘s that easy. Ready, Set, Freecycle!
